Yes. It's a bad idea to in general to disable any resource as soon as you are through using it, if enabling and disabling take a nontrivial amount of time. Consider what would happen (and did happen to me in the early stages of development!) when you run lsusb, if every device were autosuspended as soon as its usbfs file was closed and every hub were autosuspended as soon as all its children were. To take a mild case, a suspended hub with 3 children would have to wake up and be put back to sleep 4 times!
