If it doesn't work, no harm is done. Don't be so sure. Clearing a halt on endpoint 0 is sufficiently unusual that I bet some devices will fail to handle it and will crash. If you want to test what happens with this particular device, go right ahead. Maybe it will fix the failure to enumerate with EHCI.
