Thank you >Steve The patch is malformed in line 11, the last line, and wouldn't apply, so I did it by hand to both 2.6.21.1-sd-0.48, and to 2.6.21.1-cfs-v10, but for my particular problem, had no effect one way or the other for either scheduler version on the performance, which sucks badly and wastes cpu cycles by the billions according to top.
