I'm going to forward a slightly cleaned up version of this
(mostly whitespace issues) for merging, since if nothing
else it seems like a usable initial version.
However, its locking looks pretty dubious. There's a spinlock
which ought to be used inside the endpoint methods, but those
methods are instead using local_irq_{save,restore}().
