Hi,

If you use a powered hub does the system still hang? If so it is a software 
problem. If a powered hub fixes it, it still could be software (BIOS waiting 
for a drive that it cannot give power to?), but then it works so who cares?

I think all three of those stores will have a powered usb 2.0 hub for $40 to 
$50 bucks. Return it, if it doesn't fix your problem.

But hey, if you want a new mobo, go for it. It just sounds like one of those 
jokes about the guy that buys a new car everytime it
a) runs out of gas
b) ashtray fills up
c).....
