could you try this patch? Your device has class specific descriptors,
which suggests that it might work for you.

Trying to stick my way into this thread. I have an HTC Hermes (Cingular 8525) and I'm also trying this. I've tried patching rndis_host.c with the following:

        USB_INTERFACE_INFO(USB_CLASS_WIRELESS_CONTROLLER, 1, 3),
        .driver_info = (unsigned long) &rndis_info,
},

in the usb_device_id struct. This causes it to recognize my device in tethering mode and load the driver for it. However, when I plug in my device in tethering mode, I get the following in dmesg

usb 1-1: new full speed USB device using uhci_hcd and address 2
usb 1-1: configuration #1 chosen from 1 choice
usbcore: registered new interface driver cdc_ether
rndis_host 1-1:1.0: missing cdc header union ether descriptor
usb 1-1: bad CDC descriptors
usbcore: registered new interface driver rndis_host

I'm quite willing to test patches and help out, since I really want this to work. Any tips?
