The patch works properly and the problem does no longer occur.
I have another cardreader, with a ND3260 Chip (ugly slow), which
has a similar problem:

usb 1-2: new full speed USB device using uhci_hcd and address 2
usb 1-2: device descriptor read/64, error -71
usb 1-2: device descriptor read/64, error -71

This problem occurs very seldom, so it is difficult to reproduce/
verify. But i'll check this with a patched kernel, soon.
