Hello, I support 2 products which have the pl2303/pl2303x/pl2303hx chipset(s) in them and they still are working for our customers. I also use one daily at home for serial console access to my sparcs/alphas/sgis/etc and I am happily chugging along with 2.6.22-gentoo-r4 sources on my laptop. So anyway, I just wanted to put in my 2 cents, from what I can tell it seems to work just fine. I had some problems with the pl2303 and a single dropped char a while back, and Greg KH offered a solution and was very helpful, which allowed me to fix the issue for our customer and close the case. The changes completely broke it at one point and I went out and bought a pair of FDTI adaptors which have worked rather nicely. But now I need to put one of those PL2303's back in service and I'd druther not find its still broken when I'm due to use it for 2 days straight tracking my path across the planet on a long trip using roadnav to record where I've been.
