Hi everybody,

the rt2x00 project is currently working to get the ralink wireless
drivers ready for everyday use.

One issue we are struggling with is the resume handler for the
rt73 usb device. Here is what I see:

When suspending the device manually using

echo -ne "suspend" > /sys/bus/usb/devices/2-6/level
echo -ne "auto" > /sys/bus/usb/devices/2-6/level

everything works fine. Syslog output is at
http://www-user.rhrk.uni-kl.de/~nissler/rt73usb_sr/syslog_suspend_device.txt

However, when I do

echo -ne "test" > /sys/power/disk
echo -ne "disk" > /sys/power/state

the resume handler borks, with lots of

Sep 3 12:32:32 kea ehci_hcd 0000:00:1d.7: devpath 6 ep0in 3strikes

messages in the logs for each attempt to access the device. Full logs
are available here:
http://www-user.rhrk.uni-kl.de/~nissler/rt73usb_sr/syslog_suspend_to_disk.txt

So what's the problem here? Is this a know problem? Is the resume
handler incorrect? Or maybe the device cannot resume properly and needs
to be blacklisted? All comments and suggestions welcome.

Finally, some more details about my system:

- uname -a
Linux kea 2.6.23-rc3-mattias_rt2x00-testing #44 SMP PREEMPT Mon Sep 3
12:20:16 CEST 2007 x86_64 Intel(R) Core(TM)2 CPU 6420 @ 2.13GHz
GenuineIntel GNU/Linux

- I'm running the rt2x00.git kernel which is available at
http://git.kernel.org/?p=linux/kernel/git/ivd/rt2x00.git;a=summary

- lsusb output is at
http://www-user.rhrk.uni-kl.de/~nissler/rt73usb_sr/lsusb.txt
The rt73usb device is the first one listed

Just ask if you need more information.

Cheers,

Mattias
