usb mass storage device emulation through usb port

Hi all, I'm looking for an answer regarding the following issue: is it possible to emulate a mass storage device through an ordinary USB port? For example 'export' an internal block device and make it appear like a usb drive for an external device (through some ordinary usb cable without any additional chips)? For example export a notebooks hdd for the desktop machine or alike...
