Sorry, it's a Heisenbug. As soon as I enable CONFIG_USB_DEBUG the
message doesn't show up anymore. In the roughly corresponding section
of dmesg I have only:

<6>[ 23.481711] usb 4-1: gigaset_probe: Device matched (Vendor: 0x681, Product: 0x2)
<7>[ 23.486680] uhci_hcd 0000:00:1d.0: reserve dev 3 ep81-INT, period 8, phase 4, 13 us

<6>[ 23.492924] bas_gigaset: Tilman Schmidt <[email protected]>, Hansjoerg Lipp <[email protected]>,

<6>[ 23.497930] bas_gigaset: USB Driver for Gigaset 307x
<7>[ 23.500944] bas_gigaset: <-------3: 0x11 (0 [0x00 0x00])
<7>[ 23.684769] hub 2-0:1.0: hub_suspend
<7>[ 23.684784] usb usb2: bus auto-suspend

but no "duplicate filename" message anymore. The relevant region
of the bas_gigaset driver also looks fine to me, but of course it
would, as I've written it myself.

I'll be on a three week holiday starting tomorrow so I cannot do
any additional tests until then, but afterwards I'll gladly
investigate whether the Gigaset driver does anything bad here.
