According to Wikipedia, Windows Vista supports the networking parts of the USB
CDC.

Has anyone had any experience with this?

Would this mean if I compiled the ether gadget driver with RNDIS and CDC
support that it would be be an RNDIS device on Windows XP and a CDC device on
Vista?
