FTDI support status

Hello!
I am in the process of designing something completely new, (well to me
it is.) it concerns the applications of the FT245R - USB FIFO IC as
used by the DLP designs module. Before I deliberately annoy the good
group here, I have a few questions: Question one is that of support
for it within the 2.6 kernel series, how well is this device
supported?

There are others of course, but let's start there.
