If the device always behaves this way then it won't work under Windows.  
It would be nice to know what does happen when it is plugged into a
Windows system.  This can be determined easily enough using SnoopyPro 
or an equivalent monitoring program.

It may simply be that the delay_use parameter needs to be set to a
value larger than 5 seconds.  It might be a good idea to try that 
approach first.
