Here's a reproducible one: when I hotplug a USB mouse it doesn't do
anything.  But as soon as I run `lsusb' the mouse cursor starts to work.

Unplug the mouse, dmesg says

	usb 5-1: USB disconnect, address 6

Plug the mouse in, dmesg says

	<nothing>

Run lsusb, dmesg says

	usb 5-1: new low speed USB device using uhci_hcd and address 7
	usb 5-1: configuration #1 chosen from 1 choice
	input: Microsoft Microsoft Wireless Optical Mouse 1.00 as /class/input/input16
	input: USB HID v1.11 Mouse [Microsoft Microsoft Wireless Optical Mouse 1.00] on usb-0000:00:1d.0-1

and volia.
