Dear Smartmontools Users, we want to inform you about some changes in the projects infrastructure at Sourceforge. In the near future, we'll have to close the Wiki running now under software "wikispaces" [1] because Sourceforge announced to deprecate this feature. We decided to use Trac [2] for wiki and tickets instead. As a first step on the migration path, we moved our CVS-Repository to Subversion to provide Trac access to the repository. https://smartmontools.svn.sourceforge.net/svnroot/smartmontools We adjusted the download instructions on smartmontools homepage accordingly: http://smartmontools.sourceforge.net/download.html#SVNInstall I will end up this mail with a first *success story* of the move to SVN and hope, that all of you feel comfortable in the new surrounding ~ Christian Franke added a first feature which benefits from SVN: If build from trunk, the first line of smartmontools output now reports the SVN revision date and number, e.g: smartctl 5.39 2009-07-16 r2838 [i686-pc-linux-gnu] (local build) So if you send smartctl output, we can identify the exact revision. The '-V' Id string output can therefore now be removed. This will simplify the #include structure :-) Cheers, Gabriele [1] http://smartmontools.wiki.sourceforge.net/ [2] http://sourceforge.net/apps/trac/smartmontools/ ------------------------------------------------------------------------------
