Just to have an idea of what to expect, you know? In theory, you cannot expect anything. Everything is done by volunteers in unpaid spare time. In practice, I add most of the new submissions before a new smartmontools version is released. We typically provide ~2 releases per year. The USB entry for your WD device is now included, try update-smart-drivedb.
