When a test actually fails, the Status message says something like "Completed: read failure", and the LBA_of_first_error column would have a value (sector number) in it. In this case, "host" means whatever controler card your drive is connected to. So if your drive is connected directly to a SATA controller in your computer, you might want to investigate power-savings settings in your OS to make sure that the computer isn't powering down the drive after a period of (apparent) inactivity. You could also try running a short self test (or a selective self test with just a few sectors) and see if that completes successfully. I have run into a similar sort of problem running long self-tests against an external USB drive. In that case, the USB enclosure automatically powered down the drive after 3 minutes of inactivity on the USB connection, and since it had no idea that a self-test was underway it would just power down in the middle of the test. But if I set up a loop that simply access the drive once a minutes, the enclosure never timed out and the self-test was able to complete successfully.
