I'm a newbie, trying to disable a Hitachi HD failure message with smartmontools. After selecting the menu example of "smartctl -s off sda" and running the attributes, the Smart function is disabled, but when I restart the laptop, the failure message reappears and smartmontools shows it has been enabled again. I can't find this FAQ in the archives, so what am I doing wrong? ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Start Your Social Network Today - Download eXo Platform Build your Enterprise Intranet with eXo Platform Software Java Based Open Source Intranet - Social, Extensible, Cloud Ready Get Started Now And Turn Your Intranet Into A Collaboration Platform http://p.sf.net/sfu/ExoPlatform _______________________________________________ Smartmontools-support mailing list [email protected] https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/smartmontools-support
