You could ignore this message. The vendor-specific ATA pass-through SCSI 
command provided by JMicron USB bridges does not support a portable way 
to read the ATA output registers.

JMicron implements a special SCSI command for SMART STATUS. It 
apparently does not work properly here and returns a bogus result.

For further diagnostics, please provide output of

   smartctl -r ioctl,2 -i -H ...

as an attachment(!).

The disk itself looks good. After connecting the disk directly to a MB 
SATA port, smartctl should print PASSED as SMART status.
