I know that a read-only test does not remap sectors.(*)  That's why I
use a read-only test to CHECK for errors.

(*) Actually, I suspect that drives will remap sectors if they encounter
    errors but are eventually able to read a sector.

Well yes.  The point is that this is not a new error, so it's pretty odd
that smartd chose to report (re-report?) it, and it certainly doesn't
look like the drive is in imminent danger of failing.
