Help With Selftest Aborted

I recently had to get an SSD replaced under warranty, and the
replacement is a refurb. I thought I would test it with smartctl before
I put it into production. The short self test succeeds, while the long
one aborts. I don't understand the error.

The SSD will eventually go back to the internal sata controller, but
this test test is done via an external usb3->sata dock.
