Re: How to deal with defect block

I don't know of a way to figure out the file stored there either. But if
it comforts you any, the file is already toast. If the sector could be
read, it wouldn't be a pending sector. Therefore, the file is already
corrupt.

Based on your posts, the drive is likely your Windows OS drive, and
therefore it's obviously not a critical OS file, or the system wouldn't
boot. So you don't need to worry about that.

P.S. The sector number I put in my instructions was the sector the short,
and extended, tests failed at, if that wasn't clear to anyone who stumbles
on this thread in the future.
