HDD guardian uses smartctl internally. Some LSI drivers for Windows 
reportedly support CSMI. Please try "smartctl --scan".

Is this a RAID controller? If yes, it is probably not supported on any 
platform:

This is specific to a very old (~2004) Marvell driver for Linux.
