The "selftest" paragraph of the "--log=TYPE" section of the smartctl man
page includes the following explanation:

  The time at which the test took place, measured  in  hours  of disk
  lifetime, is also printed. [Note: this time stamp wraps after 2^16
  hours, or 2730 days and 16 hours, or about 7.5 years.]

You can probably see a full value for the drive's age in the output of
"smartctl -A" (i.e. the "Power_On_Hours" attribute).
