USB question

Hi All,
	This is probably stupid, but I can't remember how to run scans on 
external USB drives to either a)run a SMART test on them or b)get the 
information on them if they aren't in the database.  The website 
appears to be down (I'm getting 502 Bad Gateway from here), so I 
can't look at the manual.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.
