Yes, there is --scan (smartd.conf: DEVICESCAN) support in the for LSI 
MegaRAID controllers.

It should work for this specific RAID if and only if its driver behaves 
similar to the one for the hardware controllers.

No, '-d csmi' is only implemented in the Windows version of 
smartmontools. The CSMI draft also specified a Linux interface (see 
csmisas.h), but I'm not aware of any Linux driver implementing it.
