Yes, there is --scan (smartd.conf: DEVICESCAN) support in the for LSI MegaRAID controllers. It should work for this specific RAID if and only if its driver behaves similar to the one for the hardware controllers. The CSMI draft also specified a Linux interface (see csmisas.h), but I'm not aware of any Linux driver implementing it.
