Re: SMART tool 6.4 -M test feature is not working.

Hi,

Still after commenting out DEVICESCAN, the test section did not get executed.
My conf file has only one line 
/dev/hda -S on -H -l selftest -o on -m <nomailer> -M exec "D:\Interfaces\Utils\SmartdMsg.exe" -M test

Do I need to set any environment variable to simulate the test scenario?

The smartd.conf file is the unchanged sample file with one configuration line appended. Here this smartd.conf after removing blank and comment lines:

DEVICESCAN
/dev/hda -S on -H -l selftest -o on -m <nomailer> -M exec "D:\Interfaces\Utils\SmartdMsg.exe" -M test

The 2nd line has no effect. See smartd.conf man page:
"If a non-comment entry in the configuration file is the text string DEVICESCAN in capital letters, then smartd will ignore any remaining lines in the configuration file, and will scan for devices."
