Hi Support, Can you please share your thoughts on how to handle the following requirement? We have been using a home-developed tool for monitoring our infrastructure, and we have been thinking of including few key SMART metrics in the tool (such as Disk Error Rate), so that we can constantly monitor the disk health. In this regard, I'm trying to see how much would we need from the 'smartmontools' suite to be integrated into our monitoring tool. The SMART metrics displayed by 'smartctl -a' or 'smartctl -A' is sufficient for our monitoring purposes, hence I'm not convinced about porting the entire smartmontools suite. However, looking at the complexity of supporting all types of disks and various platforms (for now, we are targeting Linux and Windows platforms only), I'm not sure on if it's possible to let out some of the files and use only a subset of files to create a new binary, that can provide the features of 'smartctl -A' (or 'smartctl -a'). I would highly appreciate your inputs on how I can handle this requirement. If there is any existing framework or methodology to use these files to customize for specific needs, kindly let me know. Thanks for the help.
