Thanks for considering smartmontools for your monitoring needs.

Did you already check whether the intended use of parts from 
smartmontools code is compatible with its license (GPLv2+)?
If "integrating into" actually means "linking compiled objects to", the 
GPL may affect (or "infect") the whole monitoring tool.

Sorry, no, there is none. In the past, there were a few requests to make 
a library from smartmontools, but there is no volunteer working on this.
