Hi! With my new LaCie P9223 1TB USB 3.0 attached smartctl shows: > # smartctl -a /dev/sdh > smartctl 6.5 2016-05-07 r4318 [x86_64-linux-4.6.4-301.fc24.x86_64] (local build) > Copyright (C) 2002-16, Bruce Allen, Christian Franke, www.smartmontools.org > > /dev/sdh: Unknown USB bridge [0x059f:0x1070 (0x001)] > Please specify device type with the -d option. According to a google search it contains a ASMedia 1053 controller. -d sat works fine. Would be nice to have it included in future versions of smartmontools.
