How do I enable smartctl on 3ware controller - drive?

Hi, I'm trying to figure out the syntax to enable smartctl on drives behind
a 3ware raid controller.  I've tried many combinations from the man pages
but none seem to work.  Here is the hardware and what I have tried.  Thanks!
