My feedback from Vserver.

Configuration:
Linux kernel: 4.9.159
Patch: vs2.3.9.8
vserver-debiantools v0.8.1

The creation of a VServer gest with vserver-debiantools only works up to 
the Jessie version, you must then upgrade to the Stretch version. 
Updating to the Buster version forces installation of Systemd Init which 
is incompatible with VServer.

Here is the command that works:

newvserver --hostname <hostname> --context 42 --domain mydomain.com --ip 
X.X.X.X/24 --dist jessie --mirror http://ftp.fr.debian.org/debian 
--interface eno1
