I have written a white paper which:

"This document describes the already existing free or very low cost=20
alternatives to high cost Enterprise Linux and the small additional=20
steps required to get them more widely adopted than the high cost ones=20
in approximately one to two years. The problem description is taken from=20
the UserLinux white paper, but the solutions are very different, taking=20
the way of least resistance rather than the UserLinux route of biggest=20
obstacles."
