Once you're into rescue mode, your partition is mounted (if it was found) on /mnt/sysimage. Chroot your system (chroot /mnt/sysimage) and then edit grub.con in /boot/grub. You will see a line like this: boot=/dev/hda This is where GRUB was installed. Just install it again with: grub-install /dev/hda Then, reboot your system. Good luck! ---------- Forwarded message ---------- From: Joseph Carr <[email protected]> Date: Aug 13, 2006 3:58 PM Subject: [WBEL-users] Rescue To: [email protected] Hello Every One, I have a simple question. I have a dual boot sys. For learning WBEL. WBEL and XP Pro. All was working great until I had to do a repair on Win XP and it modified the MBR to its Windows Defalt booting sequence. How do I restore grub or lilo? I booted off the WBEL CD1 and typed "linux rescue" but I am unable to restore the WBEL boot loader. How do I do this? Thank you for your time iwith this matter. Respectfully yours, Joseph S.
