Short story: I modified APIC handling in some 4.0s-pre's so that you need to specify APIC in order to use it. If you don't specify it, APIC is _off_. That fixed a lot of bugs because APIC handling is broken in mainline. Sometimes it's on, sometimes it's off, sometimes half on/off etc. But unfortunately I found a bug in this handling which I fixed ~30 minutes ago. So to correct my sentence: APIC is for sure needed for SMP but please disable the APIC boot option so far if you're experiencing problems with SMP/HT and WOLK. ciao, Marc ------------------------------------------------------- This sf.net email is sponsored by:ThinkGeek Welcome to geek heaven. http://thinkgeek.com/sf _______________________________________________ WOLK - Working Overloaded Linux Kernel [email protected] https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/wolk-devel
