This is exactly what I mean. The problem is that even a seemingly trivial
patch will touch code that a different patch you want to merge wants to
modify, so you get a reject; some effort must be invested to sort it out,
and if you don't fully understand what you're doing, it may not work and be
next to impossible to track down.

Therefore, I'd keep the number of 'trivial' patches as low as possible.

However, obviously you know your way around the kernel a lot better than me,
so your 'pain threshold' is bound to be higher.

(I was not trying to convince you, just explaining my point.)
