Hi, yesterday I got the kernel compiled as mentioned above and it looked working fine. Maybe I have to add that I also applied the grsec patch. Today, as I came home, my computer was really slow, load was above 6 and there was a process running called pdflush. After looking into the source tree I guess it has something to do with memory management, but thats all I know :-) Before rebooting my computer I looked for entries in the log files but there seemed to be nothing regarding this problem. During the day the computer didn't have to do something special. That means, nothing that he hasn't done many times before without any problems. I attached my .config as gzipped file. Is there anything a can do to avoid this problem in future? Regards, Andreas
