EVFS compile error (should be: Compile errors with 4.2s)

I'm getting the same error as Joao was with /usr/include/linux/string.h . I
think I traced the problem back to the Makefile in
linux-2.4.20-wolk4.3s/evfs. It does CFLAGS=stuff instead of CFLAGS+=stuff,
which I think is seriously bad mojo. Specifically, it loses the -I flag
which prioritizes the kernel's /include/ directory. If that's not enough
information, I can attach my .config in a followup, but it doesn't seem like
it would make a difference.
