When we are talking about feature requests anyway:

- SHFS (http://shfsh.fs.net), get rid of LUFS
- Partitioned Loopback Device Support
    (ftp://ftp.hq.nasa.gov/pub/ig/ccd/enhanced_loopback/)
- A possibility to deactivate scsi/ide with boot parameters
- Make the FS code ignore unknown mount options at mount time,
  whether included via rootflags= boot parameter or in fstab
