Maintainance of the XDG specifications

Hi The XDG-specs project has not received much attention recently. There are many open and unanswered issues and patches on the mailing list, gitlab and the bug tracker. This bothers me because many improvements have not been merged, sometimes even for years. What can I do about this to improve the overall situation?
