Another possibility now seems to be either Fedora 15 or 16, see
<http://penguinppc.org/2011/05/fedora-on-powerpc-thinks-itll-go-for-a-walk/> 
which seems to be moving towards a release.  It is not clear how
general a ppc release it will be.  Still it may be another option.
