Hi,

I've browsed the Zynot test repository at datacore and read the ZynotSVN=20
RoadMap in the Wiki. In the "Populating the Tree" section, 3) says that the=
=20
base tree should be deleted afterwards. The reasoning behind this is not=20
quite clear to me. Why will this "not be compatible with porteus"? Are you=
=20
planning to remove the KEYWORDS from ebuilds and identify them by path?

What about this: Keep the base tree as a place for _new_ ebuilds, containin=
g=20
KEYWORDS=3D"~<arch were it was first developed>". Architectures can the mer=
ge=20
to their unstable (or developer) branch and do the modifications they need.

Also, it should IMHO stay there as a common starting point for _users_.=20
Especially if they have Zynot running on multiple archs, base would=20
eliminates the need to checkout a branch for each arch. This would of=20
course imply that architecure branches are merged back to base.

PS: A little bit of background. I am a consultant for Software Configuratio=
n=20
Management (mostly with Rational ClearCase) and may provide some help with=
=20
SCM related issues. Also, I am interested in the m68k port.

Bye...

	Dirk
