Thanks for the help, but Ken Cheetham at Franz got to me before

I had a chance to try this. I was able to create an mlisp image

that did what I needed:

(progn

(build-lisp-image "mlisp.dxl" :case-mode :case-sensitive-lower

:include-ide nil :restart-app-function nil)

(sys:copy-file "sys:allegro-ansi.exe" "sys:mlisp.exe"))

(from the trial version's readme.txt file).

However, your mail was still usefull because I was also looking

for a package like "lisp-in-a-box" (for other purposes), anyway.
