I wish you would --- the BIGGER-VERSION change doesn't change the
semantics at all. All it does is provide
1. a convenient point for tracing and
2. a convenient way of testing version comparison (previously one
would have to make and populate a component object in order to
test the version comparison)
So it's handy for debugging.
All I did was rip a LABELS binding out and make it a top-level defun.
I'd actually argue that this is a *good* time to pull this out. If
we're talking about making a better semantics, it'd be nice to have an
easy point of entry for comparing before and after changes.
