If we do that we could bite the bullet and switch to only ASDF as Defsystem facility (leaving out MK:Defsystem and LW-Defsystem). I personally do not see any alternative to ASDF. MK:Defsystem 4 looks much to complicated to me (I prefer a single-file Defsystem facility). To the question where to add it: I would propose to create a "contrib" directory in the repository where we could put such things in. This could be used for example applications using portableaserve too. Another question is if we should register portableaserve (and it's submodules) properly when running the installation procedure. With proper installation I mean creating links to the .asd files in a ~/lisp-systems directory (or the pendant in other OSs) and setting up ASDF to use that as a *central-repository*. We could offer two ways - one simply compiling/loading portableaserve and another one which includes registering the modules properly. For making vn-cclan packages out of portableaserve we should decide if we want to split up the package into - portableaserve - htmlgen - acl-compat - cl-ssl ciao, Jochen ------------------------------------------------------- This sf.net email is sponsored by:ThinkGeek No, I will not fix your computer. http://thinkgeek.com/sf
