with-server-push-response

I am exploring the possibility of pushing some content to a client 
browser using cl-http server methods.
The with-server-push-response works well with Mozilla but I am just 
wondering if it is possible to grab a stream from a successful 
connection to the server and than use this stream to send some content 
to the client.
This would be ideal so that the client would need to be refreshed only 
if the content has changed and not at a regular interval with 
with-server-push-response.
