can I detect a control-click (or the like) on hotlinks in cl-http?

I'd like to be able to tell, when someone clicks on a hotlinked icon, whether they had the control key (or some other key) held down when the click occurred, so my response function can take different actions accordingly (i.e.. click does one action, control-click another). Is this possible in cl-http? How can it be done? A code exemplar would be great. Thanks for any pointers.
