CL-HTTP and https

I can't figure out what the status of https support in CL-HTTP is
the last mail I found about it is dated 1999. That's quite some time
ago, and hence I wonder if someone can tell me what the status actual
is.

If it's supported it would be nice if someone could show me an example
on how to use it.
